About Ruiz Home Services

Home service designed for the way New York actually works.

The repair may be small. The coordination often is not. Ruiz Home Services is being built to make everyday apartment work clearer for customers and handymen without ignoring the building around them.

NYC-first by design

Apartments, co-ops, condos, rentals, supers, COIs, work windows, and small spaces are treated as product requirements.

The premise

A marketplace should do more than pass a lead.

The hard part is not putting a request form on the internet. It is creating a system that asks better questions, preserves clear decisions, and knows when not to continue.

A shelf install in a Bronx walk-up and the same install in a Manhattan co-op may look identical in a photo. Operationally, they can be different jobs.

One might need only the correct anchors and an agreed time. The other might require management approval, exact certificate-of-insurance language, an approved work window, elevator coordination, and superintendent sign-in. A generic “book now” flow hides those differences until they become somebody’s problem.

Ruiz Home Services is designed around a more honest model: collect enough context, review the scope, surface the requirements, keep the labor math visible, and coordinate only when the work has a responsible path forward.

That also means saying no. Emergency conditions, building-system failures, regulated trades, hazardous materials, structural work, and permit-required projects do not become safe because they entered through a friendly website.

Operating principles

What the product is built to protect.

These principles shape the public experience, the internal workflow, and the technical system behind it.

01

Scope before speed

An extra minute clarifying the job is cheaper than a wasted visit or unsafe assumption.

02

The building is part of the job

Access, insurance, work hours, elevators, approvals, and the superintendent can matter as much as the task.

03

Money should be legible

Labor, worker share, platform share, materials, tax, processing, and adjustments should not blur together.

04

Boundaries build trust

A marketplace should redirect work that needs emergency response, management, a licensed trade, or a specialist.

The long-term target

A better small-job operating system for NYC.

Customers understand what happens next.
Handymen receive clearer, more complete scopes.
Building requirements surface before arrival.
Sensitive actions remain controlled and traceable.
